The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Medical Billing / AR Specialist to work with our client, an American 'urgent care' medical company based in the Midwest region. The main focus of this position is to ensure medical services are billed promptly and to obtain the highest reimbursement while managing the follow-up on denied claims, claim edits, and rejections so they may be resubmitted on time.
Essential to this role will be your experience in urgent care provider credentialling and enrollments, including your ability to review and understand explanations of benefits to facilitate medical billing functions.
This position is remote so offers you the flexibility of working from home.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Electronically submit claims daily and follow up on denials, edits, and rejections promptly
- Utilize your knowledge of CPT, Modifiers, and ICD-10 codes to accurately process claims
- Ensure prompt entry of all charges received from physicians/providers
- Make necessary updates to patient accounts and insurance information
- Post insurance and patient payments accurately and efficiently
- Handle patient inquiries and billing-related phone calls with professionalism and courtesy
- Prepare and submit appeals as needed, and initiate insurance follow-up procedures
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient health information and adhere to all HIPAA regulations
To be successful in the position you will have:
- At least 3 years of experience in medical billing and A/R
- Experience working directly with insurance companies and thorough knowledge of insurance guidelines, including HMO, Medicare, Medicaid, and other payer requirements
- Strong problem-solving skills to research and resolve discrepancies, denials, appeals, and collections effectively
- Competent use of computer systems and billing software
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with insurance payers and patients regarding medical claims and payments
- Exceptional customer service focus, and
- Proven ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure, and multitask effectively
Service Fee:
Industry standards applicable to the state depending on work experience and level of expertise.
Hours:
US Eastern Standard Time (EST) - 9am to 6pm
